The European Union has prepared a second list of goods from the United States that may be subject to tariffs in response to Donald Trump's trade policy. About this writes Bloomberg.

These measures may be applied if the United States does impose the announced 30% duty on European goods on August 1.

The updated second package of EU countermeasures contains a list of products worth 72 billion euros ($84 billion), of which:

  • more than 65 billion – industrial goods:
  • airplanes (including Boeing) – almost 11 billion euros;
  • industrial equipment – 9.4 billion euros;
  • cars – 8 billion euros.
  • about 6 billion euros – agricultural products:
  • fruits and vegetables – 2 billion euros;
  • alcoholic beverages (including bourbon) – 1.2 billion euros.

This list replaces the previous list of €95 billion, which was reduced after consultations with businesses and governments of EU member states.

The broader package also includes high-precision equipment and tools (almost €5 billion), toys (over €500 million), sports equipment (about €300 million), and musical instruments (about €200 million) .

The European Commission emphasized that it selected the products taking into account how easy they are to replace with alternative suppliers, as well as whether there is a risk that American manufacturers will leave the European market.

  • on July 14, it was reported that the European Union had prepared the first list of duties against the United States for 21 billion euros.
