The EVA retail chain is preparing to expand abroad, said company founder Ruslan Shostak in an interview with Fedoriv Vlog.

"We have ambitious growth plans. We are exploring many countries — even India is now on our radar — as well as Southern European markets. There are some very interesting projects, and I am confident that by the end of this year or early next year, we will be able to finalize our strategy and begin implementing it," Shostak said.

"I see EVA not only as an offline platform, but also as a very powerful online one. And I envision it not just within Ukraine — it has the potential to become not just a billion-dollar business, but a multi-billion-dollar one," the entrepreneur added.

Regarding the Varus supermarket chain, which is also part of his Terwin corporation, Shostak believes there is still significant room for growth within Ukraine.

"About 35–40% of the grocery market is still in the informal segment — open-air markets, small traders. ATB, Silpo, Novus — all of us combined haven’t captured even 70% of the market. So there is still substantial potential," he explained.

Shostak predicts it will take around another 10 years to fully develop the domestic market. By then, small businesses might account for only 5–7%, with large retail chains together controlling up to 90% of the market.

By early 2025, EVA had nearly returned to its pre-war number of stores. In summer 2025, the company began launching new-format minimarkets under the EVA Poruch (Near) brand.
