Ukraine wants to sell up to $30 billion worth of drones to the US

Ukraine is seeking to sign a large-scale contract with the United States for the supply of combat drones. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a meeting with journalists on July 24, commenting on defense exports.
According to him, preliminary agreements with the US side on the purchase of Ukrainian drones have already been reached.
"We have agreed with America, with President Trump, that they will buy drones from us," Zelenskyy said.
The president said he had instructed NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and his advisor Oleksandr Kamyshyn to prepare a "serious agreement" worth $10 to $30 billion.
In parallel, Ukraine is already creating drone production lines abroad.
In particular, an agreement has been reached with Denmark on the joint production of long-range drones on its territory – some equipment will be transferred to Ukraine during the war, and after it ends, the drones will be used by the Danish army.
Similar projects are also being discussed with Norway and Germany.
- In 2023, Kamyshin said that Ukraine has ambitions to become the largest arms producer in Europe.
- Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine's defense industry has grown 35 times, but its capacities still cover the needs of the army by less than half .
- In the ranking of arms importers Ukraine has been ranked first in the world for two years in a row.
