Unprecedented move in Ukrainian Carpathians: private land transferred to state for conservation

An event described as unprecedented for the Ukrainian Carpathians by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture took place in Verkhovyna district: a private land plot of 0.62 hectares became state property for environmental purposes, according to website ministries.
The act of transfer was signed with the participation of Deputy Minister Ihor Zubovych, Director of the Department of Nature Reserve Fund, the management of the Verkhovyna National Nature Park, and representatives of the NGO Forest Initiatives and Society, who donated the land plot.
The transferred land will become part of a project aimed at creating a rehabilitation and tourist center for people affected by the war.
The plans include the construction of a campsite and a visitor center on the newly annexed territory. It is also planned to build an inclusive rehabilitation and tourist hub called Perkalabska Brama.
"If we find the appropriate funding, the construction can be completed within six months," he said said director of the park.
- In August 2025, it became known that the former head of the State Investment Project Vladislav Kaskiv with the support of MP Serhiy Lovochkin is making plans for construction all-season resort "Borzhava" near the village of Pylypets.
