Reconstruction of Okhmatdyt will cost UAH 396 million: work will begin in June
The overhaul of the main building of the Okhmadyt Children's Hospital, damaged by a Russian missile explosion in July 2024 will begin in June. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.
The cost of reconstruction is about UAH 396 million. The works will be financed from the funds raised on the accounts of the Okhmatdyt - Healthy Childhood Charitable Foundation.
The design and estimate documentation is currently undergoing an expert review. The tender for the overhaul of the modern building will be announced on the Prozorro platform in the first half of May.
Prior to the tender announcement, it is planned to hold market consultations with construction companies to attract as many participants as possible and promote competition.
During the overhaul, the hospital will continue to operate and provide care to patients. External works are to be completed in winter.
In addition to the new building, four other buildings were damaged during the Russian attack: the surgical, toxicology, and administrative buildings, as well as a transformer substation. Restoration processes have also been launched and a number of tenders have been held for them.
All the money raised for the reconstruction of the Okhmatdyt National Children's Hospital, which is more than a billion hryvnias, will be used for its intended purpose, it was emphasized at a briefing on April 30.
These funds have already been used to pay for damage assessment, development of project documentation and protective works. Each stage of the reconstruction is controlled by the Okhmatdyt Reconstruction Council.

The cost of the tender was to be UAH 307 million excluding VAT, although other companies were ready to perform the work cheaper.
- Due to a significant public outcry , the results of the tender were canceled. Further processes to restore Okhmatdyt should be supervised by the Restoration Council .
- On August 16, a new scandal broke out, when it became known that the Okhmatdyt - Healthy Childhood Foundation refused to transfer the money raised to the hospital's account. The police opened a case, The hospital's CEO was suspended.
- In October, a contract was signed for priority emergency repairs at the Okhmatdyt National Children's Hospital, the tender was held on the Prozorro platform. The works were paid for by the Tabletochki Charitable Foundation. The winner of the tender was Unit Development LLC.
