According to the results of 2025, Ukraine exported agricultural products worth $22.53 billion. This is $2.15 billion, or 8.8% less compared to 2024, reports Ukrainian Agricultural Business Club.

Despite the decrease in foreign exchange earnings, the share of the agricultural sector in the overall structure of exports of goods remains significant – 56.1%. Although this figure is lower than the record year of 2023, when agricultural products accounted for 61% of all exports.

The most noticeable trend was the reduction in exports to the European Union. While in 2022-2024 the EU's share in the structure of Ukrainian agricultural exports consistently exceeded 50%, in 2025 it fell to 47.5% – that is $10.7 billion.

Amidst the decline in exports, a reverse trend is observed in imports. In 2025, purchases of foreign agricultural products increased to a record $8.75 billion over the past five years.

The share of agricultural goods in Ukraine's total imports has remained stable over the past four years at around 10.8%. However, in absolute terms, food import costs are increasing every year.

Over 53% of all agricultural imports, or $4.64 billion, came from European Union countries.
