AMCU fines Bakhmatyuk-linked firms UAH 2.2 million for re-registering under US citizen

On December 3, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine fined the American company TNA Corporate Solutions LLC a total of UAH 2.2 million for a series of uncoordinated acquisitions of Ukrainian companies, reported on the committee's website.
These are 14 Ukrainian companies that were part of the Oleg Bakhmatyuk ukrlandfarming agricultural holding:
→ Agrarian Perspective LLC;
→ Agrarian Holding Avangard LLC;
→ Financial and Consulting Company Avangard Ltd;
→ -Trade Agro- LLC;
→ Agricultural Enterprise Spring 21 LLC;
→ JV Dubnotsukorinvest (in the form of LLC);
→ Budishcha LLC;
→ LLC "Vilna Sloboda";
→ Interbusiness;
→ Zolotoy Lan-N LLC;
→ SSP "Dobrobut";
→ SAAN-AGRO LLC;
→ Agrotech Distribution Company LLC;
→ Hetmanske LLC.
The final beneficiary of these companies is listed in the state register as a US citizen Nicholas Piazza, according to the LIGA360 system.
- In 2022, Piazza, along with Bakhmatyuk, was a defendant in the the lawsuit of Gramercy Funds Managementwhich accused the company of organizing a fraudulent scheme to transfer almost $1 billion of assets from UkrLandFarming Plc to Cyprus and Wyoming trusts, beyond the reach of bondholders. In October 2024, the lawsuits were withdrawn in connection with a confidential settlement agreement.
- Bakhmatyuk lives in Vienna, in Ukraine he will be tried for charged with misappropriation of UAH 1.2 billion stabilization loan that the NBU issued to VAB Bank in October 2014. He is also accused of providing the largest bribe in the history of Ukraine in the amount of UAH 722 million.
