China has officially recognized Ukrainian peas as being on par with Canadian peas in quality – one of the best in the world. This was announced by Antonina Sklyarenko, President of the Ukrainian Bean and Soybean Association (UBSA), during her speech at the Agro Ukraine Summit.

According to her, Ukrainian producers of legumes, including peas, chickpeas, lentils, soybeans, and beans, are actively looking for profitable sales markets around the world.

The priority is where the price is best, so attention is focused not only on the EU, but also on the countries of Africa and Asia.

"We cannot focus on just one direction, so we are looking where the conditions are more favorable," Sklyarenko emphasized.

According to her, China remains one of the most promising destinations.

"A lot of technical requirements need to be met. The Chinese included points in the protocol for peas that were not there for other crops. But we are working anyway, because there is demand, and it is thanks to this that the price of peas has risen," said the president of the UBSA.

At the same time, the Chinese side officially stated that it is not inferior to the Canadian one and surpasses the Russian one in terms of quality indicators.

"So we have all the prerequisites to become a long-term supplier," said the president of UBSA.
