Export prices for feed barley in Ukraine increased by 50-100 UAH/t and reached 10 250 UAH/t. Traders are forced to increase offers due to a sharp drop in supply from farmers, according to , the electronic grain exchange of Ukraine.

Amid difficult harvesting conditions for late crops and the need to quickly plant winter crops on the planned areas, Ukrainian farmers have virtually stopped active sales of grain, including barley. This has created a supply shortage on the domestic market.

Despite low export demand and slow exports, traders continue to buy barley for export and are forced to raise purchase prices to attract the necessary volumes.

Last week, export demand prices for feed barley increased by 50-100 UAH/t to 10150-10250 UAH/t, which is equivalent to $212-216 per ton.

For the period of October 1-22, Ukraine exported only 153,000 tons of feed barley compared to 352,000 tons for the same period in 2024.

In total, as of September 29, exports reached 1.026 million tons, down 63% from last year's 1.675 million tons.

Demand prices for feed wheat and corn also rose slightly due to a drop in supply from producers. However, the Ukrainian market expects a sharp increase in corn supply next month.
