Energoatom chief Kotin resigns, Rivne NPP director takes over

Petro Kotin, longtime head of NNEGC Energoatom, resigned as Acting Chairman of the Management Board on August 21 at his own request. The Supervisory Board accepted his resignation, the company announced.
Pavlo Kovtoniuk, former CEO of Rivne NPP, has been appointed Acting Chairman of the Management Board until a permanent successor is elected.
"Mr. Kovtoniuk has the necessary experience and professional qualities for this role. We highly appreciate his readiness to take on these responsibilities," the Supervisory Board said.

Kovtoniuk was born on January 5, 1953, in the village of Strіlky, Starosambir district, Lviv region. In 1977, after graduating from Lviv Polytechnic Institute, he began his career at Rivne Nuclear Power Plant.
In late 2008, he became Chief Engineer and First Deputy Director General of RNPP, and in 2022 he was appointed head of the plant.
Kotin has worked at Energoatom since 2003, leading the company since 2020—first as Acting President, then as President, and, since January 9, 2024, after corporatization, as Acting Chairman of the Management Board.
The Supervisory Board plans to launch a competitive selection process for the position of permanent Chairman of the Management Board, as well as for other vacancies on the company’s governing body.
It also proposed the creation of three new key positions: Chief Operating Officer (COO), Vice President for Governance and Ethics, and Vice President for Finance and Strategy.
