Energoatom's Supervisory Board responds to NABU case: will hold a special meeting

The Supervisory Board of Energoatom is meeting for a special meeting due to the criminal proceedings of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau concerning corruption in the company. This is reported by on its website .
According to the investigation, the real management of Energoatom was carried out by the so-called "watchers", who controlled personnel decisions, procurement processes and the movement of financial flows.
"The Supervisory Board treats the recent corruption allegations involving Energoatom employees with the utmost seriousness. The Board will convene a special meeting to comprehensively assess the situation and determine appropriate actions. This will include initiating an independent review of the relevant transactions, as well as a comprehensive assessment of the company's internal procedures and control systems," Energoatom said in a statement .
The Supervisory Board at Energoatom was formed in mid-2024. It includes former Westinghouse top manager Michael Elliot Kirst, , former Lithuanian Energy Minister Jarek Neverovich, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy Vitaliy Petruk and President of the Kyiv School of Economics Tymofiy Mylovanov.
Another independent member of the Supervisory Board, Timothy Stone, refused to be appointed.
At the same time, Energoatom has not had a full-fledged leader for almost two years since its corporatization (transformation from a state-owned enterprise into a joint-stock company). Initially, Petro Kotin was acting chairman of the board, and in August 2025 he was replaced by Pavlo Kovtoniuk, head of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant .
- Energoatom is the operator of four nuclear power plants: Zaporizhzhya, Rivne, South Ukraine and Khmelnytsky, which operate 15 nuclear power units (13 VVER-1000 and two VVER-440) with a total installed capacity of 13,835 MW. The company also owns Tashlytska HPP (453 MW), Oleksandrivska HPP (25 MW) and the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility in the Chornobyl zone.
