On October 29, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv imposed a preventive measure on former head of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, who is suspected of fraudulently embezzling state-owned company funds. This was reported by Suspilne and Radio Liberty.

The court granted the prosecutor's request in full. Kudrytskyi was remanded in custody for two months until December 26 with the possibility of bail of UAH 13.73 million.

In addition, the suspect is proposed to be given the following obligations: not to leave his place of residence without notice, to wear an electronic bracelet and to surrender his passport.

The judge refused several MPs who wanted to take Kudrytskyi on bail.

The State Bureau of Investigation detained Kudrytskyi on October 28 in the Lviv region. The investigation believes that Kudrytskyi could have seized state-owned company funds during tenders for the reconstruction of energy system facilities back in 2018, when he was still the deputy director for investments.

According to Ukrainy Pravda, which first reported on the detention, the second person in the case is Lviv businessman Ihor Hrynkevich.

Kudrytskyi was searched last week. He called the case "left-wing", rather absurd and stated that it "has political overtones."
