Svyrydenko: water will be returned to Kyiv in a few hours, work on electricity is ongoing

Energy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said that water in Kyiv will be restored within a few hours after the night shelling. She said this to MPs at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on Friday .
"In Kyiv, we expect the water supply to be fully restored within a few hours. As for the power supply, critical infrastructure has already been powered up, and further work is ongoing. In a few hours, the Ministry of Energy will give an update on the situation," said she.
Svyrydenko's Telegram channel reports that the Russian shelling on October 10, 2025, was one of the largest combined strikes on civilian energy infrastructure.

The restoration work began immediately after the air raid warning went off at 7:30 a.m .
In Kirovohrad region, water supply is expected to be fully restored by the end of the day. Critical infrastructure has been restored in Kyiv. Emergency shutdown schedules are in place in Kyiv, Poltava, Kharkiv and Sumy regions. Alternative energy sources, including generators and emergency power points, have been provided for the duration of the work.
The number of police patrols on the streets and in public transport has also been increased.
