At its meeting on Tuesday, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to maintain a fixed price for electricity for household consumers for another month — until May 31, reported the representative of the government in the parliament, Taras Melnychuk.

In Ukraine, there is a double tariff for electricity: UAH 1.44/kW ($0.039) in case of consumption of up to 250 kW per month and UAH 1.68/kWh ($0.046) for the entire volume in case of consumption of more than 250 kW per month.

Last Saturday, the head of the tariff regulator Kostiantyn Uschapovskyi said that the government is considering raising tariffs to UAH 2.40/kW ($0.065) and UAH 2.80/kW ($0.076).

However, no decision has been made yet.

Melnychuk reported that the Cabinet of Ministers extended the current fixed price for electricity for household consumers until the end of the new month.
