The court has allowed Zhurzhiy to resume construction of a gas piston power plant in Sofiivska Borshchahivka

The Kyiv Court of Appeals has granted the appeal of the Inzhur Energy investment fund and allowed the construction of one of the first Ukrainian people's power plants in Sofiivska Borshchagovka to continue. The company's press service reported this.
The court made the corresponding decision on May 28, 2025, canceling the ban previously imposed by the Kyiv-Svyatoshyn District Court at the request of the prosecutor's office.
The 34 MW power plant is being built within the framework of the presidential program for the development of small-scale generation under a contract with Ukrenergo.
Inzhur Energy, owned by former People's Deputy Andriy Zhurzhiy, said it would resume construction on Thursday, May 29. The first phase of the 18 MW project is planned to be completed by October 2025 in order to launch it before the start of the heating season.
In August 2024, Inzhur Energy won the Ukrenergo auction and signed an agreement to provide ancillary services for the Ukrainian power system.
It is noted that Inzhur Energy purchased equipment worth over 12 million euros and began construction in November. The total cost of the project is $20 million.
"On March 21, 2025, at the request of the Kyiv-Svyatoshyn District Prosecutor's Office, the district court ruled to stop the construction. The lawsuit was most likely initiated by one of the residents of the Skifsky cooperative neighboring the power plant, who is a relative of the prosecutor of one of the Ukrainian cities," the Inzhur Energy press service noted.
The prosecution alleged that the power plant violates safety regulations and is being built over a high-pressure gas pipeline.
Inzhur Energy reported that it is building the station, having all the necessary documents in accordance with current legislation, as well as approval from the Buchanan Regional Environmental Authority, a positive environmental impact assessment, and an approved and implemented detailed design for protecting the gas pipeline within the development.
The company also plans to build two more power plants with a total capacity of 116 MW over the next four years.
- On May 26, it was reported that Lvivoblenergo applied to the Commercial Court of Kyiv with an application to declare United Energy LLC bankrupt due to outstanding debts in the amount of UAH 30.48 million.
