The Cabinet of Ministers has started concession tender of two terminals of the Chornomorsk seaport. This is the first public-private partnership project in the port industry during the great war. About it said prime minister Yulia Sviridenko.

"For the first time since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine is launching a public-private partnership in the port sector. Yesterday in Odesa, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba signed an order to create a competition commission," Svyrydenko wrote on Telegram.

According to the prime minister, more than 40 international port operators and investors have already expressed their readiness to join the project.

"This could become the largest investment in the history of Ukrainian ports – hundreds of millions of dollars in modernization and more than $1.1 billion in budget revenues over 40 years," the Prime Minister said.

The next steps will be to prepare documentation with the participation of IFC, EBRD and leading consultants, announce a tender and select an investor, he added minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.

"For the community of Chornomorsk, this project means stability and new opportunities. For the whole country, it means the resumption of container transportation," Kuleba said.

According to him, in three years the volume could reach 250,000 TEUs per year, and in the long run, return to pre-war levels of more than half a million.

"This brings the port to the level of the leading European hubs," the Vice Prime Minister added.
