Ukrzaliznytsia receives final batch of railcars under 2023 contract with Kryukiv Carriage Works

Ukrzaliznytsia JSC has received the final batch of passenger railcars under a 2023 contract with the Kryukiv Carriage Works. The announcement was made on Sunday by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Director of Ukrzaliznytsia’s Passenger Company.
“This is the last part of the 66-car order placed in 2023,” Shevchenko wrote on Facebook, sharing photos of the new car interiors.
According to Svyrydenko, cooperation between the Kryukiv Plant and Ukrzaliznytsia is a successful example of the government’s Made in Ukraine industrial policy.
“This is a great example of localization — when a Ukrainian manufacturer fulfills a state order. In this case, up to 40% of the contract’s value returns to the budget through taxes. It also enables enterprises to invest and grow,” she noted.
- In October 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia and Kryukiv Plant signed a contract for 44 passenger railcars worth UAH 1.95 billion, and in December – for another 22 cars for UAH 980 million.
- On July 21, 2025, the procedure for contracting another 100 new passenger cars was completed.
- Taking into account this purchase, UZ will receive 266 new passenger cars from 2021 at the expense of the state budget (another 100 cars were manufactured in 2021-2023).
