"There is still something left to freeze". Semi-finished products market in Ukraine is growing by 15-25% per year
Every year, consumption of semi-finished products increases by 15%-25%, so there is still room for growth in this market. This is the opinion of the interview LIGA.net said Volodymyr Matviychuk, owner of Multicook and former co-owner of Galya Baluvana.
He believes that the Ukrainian market for semi-finished products is still in its infancy, which opens up significant opportunities for development.
"The market is growing overall: consumption of convenience foods is increasing by 15-25% every year. Every year, people are refusing to cook at home on a daily basis," Matviychuk said.
Among the key drivers of market development, the businessman named two areas: the creation of new product categories and the development of gastronomic stores.
"There is still plenty to freeze," he said.
As an example, he cited potatoes with meat and salads that appeared on the Multicook menu.
Since the summer of 2025, Matviychuk has been developing the Multicook store format with Multibar in Ukraine, which is a retail outlet that heats up ready-made frozen meals.
"We can feed a person both borsch and bograch in a small area," he says.
