Energoatom will be forced to pay UAH 20 billion to the budget after the corruption scandal
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy Andriy Gerus informed about the agreement on payment Energoatom dividends to the state budget in the amount of about UAH 20 billion. He wrote about this in the Facebookcommenting on the dismissal of the Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko.
According to Gerus, after the tariff increase, Energoatom turned into a very profitable company with billions of hryvnias accumulated in its accounts.
"I have already had a conversation with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance to have these funds paid as dividends to the shareholder, i.e. to the state budget. It may be about UAH 20 billion. Everyone agreed with this, we will implement it," Gerus wrote on Facebook.
The MP noted that, despite the complexity of the situation in the energy sector, there is now a good chance to clean up the industry, which should not be lost.
