Ukrainian all-terrain vehicle manufacturer Sherp has completed the necessary work at its new plant in Türkiye’s province of Bursa, local newspaper Daily Sabah reported.

The plant, scheduled to be inaugurated on 26 April, mass production of YETX, Sharp’s new multipurpose off-road model already presented in Türkiye.

Sherp decided to set up production in Türkiye eight months ago.

"The company has decided to invest here by relying on Bursa's industrialization, qualified human resources and Türkiye's geography," Erman Ersöz, general manager of Orso Off-Road Solutions, the company's branch in Bursa, said.

"We will launch a second line project here next year."

Designed for difficult terrain conditions, YETX, which measures 2.8 metres (9 feet) in height, 4 metres in length, and 2.5 metres in width, can easily overcome obstacles up to a metre and be used on slopes up to 35 degrees.

The vehicle can be used in search and rescue operations, forest fire response, and ambulance services in areas and in water that ordinary cars cannot reach.

Sherp YETX is expected to use 70 percent of Türkiye-produced components.

"We are currently working on localising our vehicle. We are in talks with more than 200 suppliers," Mr Ersöz added.

The Ukrainian company, in operation since 2015, revoked its manufacturing licence in Russia last year in the wake of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
