China has warned Donald Trump's administration of an escalating trade war if the United States reimposes high tariffs on Chinese imports in August. This was reported by Reuters.

On Monday, July 7, Trump began informing trading partners about the increase in tariffs after postponing them for most countries in April, giving time for negotiations.

China received the toughest terms – more than 100% duties on certain goods. Trump gives country until August 12 to reach new deal with White House.

"One conclusion is quite clear: Dialogue and cooperation are the only right way," China said.

Currently, the average US duty on Chinese goods is 51.1%, while the Chinese duty on American goods is 32.6%.

In addition, China has threatened to retaliate against countries that conclude agreements with the United States to exclude it from supply chains.

For example, Vietnam last week received a duty reduction to 20% on the condition that goods in transit from China will be subject to a 40% tariff.

"China strongly opposes any party that enters into an agreement that sacrifices Chinese interests in exchange for tariff benefits," China emphasized .
