"A Signal to Trump". Russia strikes American plant in Mukachevo

On the night of August 21, during a large-scale Russian attack an American-owned plant in the Zakarpattia region was struck, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said.
The strike on the facility occurred around 4:30 a.m.
"One of the missiles hit a major American electronics company in our westernmost region, causing severe damage and casualties. This was a completely civilian facility with no connection to defense or the military. It is not the first Russian attack on American businesses in Ukraine: earlier this year, Boeing’s offices in Kyiv and other facilities were also targeted," Sibiga wrote on the social network X.
He shared a photo of the damaged facility, confirming it was the Flex Ukraine (Flextronics) plant.

Mukachevo Mayor Andriy Baloha noted that the company provided jobs for thousands of residents of the community and the wider district.
"Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but the strike caused a large fire and there are injured," he said.
According to police, 15 people were wounded in the attack. One victim is in serious condition. The youngest of the injured is 22 years old, the oldest is 63.
The American company Flex began operating in Ukraine in the early 2000s in cooperation with the Berehove Radio Plant CJSC to manufacture flash units for disposable Kodak cameras. It later built its own facility, which became one of the largest employers in Zakarpattia.
Head of the NSDC’s Center for Countering Disinformation Andriy Kovalenko recalled that Russian forces had previously attacked a Polish company in Vinnytsia, as well as facilities belonging to Azerbaijan’s SOCAR.
"Civilian targets. Putin, like a common rat, is sending a signal to Trump," he wrote.
The Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor’s Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into the commission of a war crime (Part 1, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
