Most Finnish companies have left the Russian market since Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, with only two percent still doing business in Russia, Yle reports.

A survey by the Finnish chamber of commerce showed that almost 80 percent of export companies were operating in Russia since last February, but most soon pulled out of the Russian market.

18 percent of Finnish companies said they had encountered "some attempts to circumvent Russian sanctions", the survey revealed, including proposals from Central Asian countries.

The survey among Finnish export managers took place on 24-27 October and encompassed about a hundred exporting companies.

Finland has been a staunch supporter of Ukraine and has taken action to limit Russian influence in the country.

It is considering banning real estate transactions for Russians and streamlining the confiscation of Russian-owned apartments.
