Britain announces war risk insurance mechanism for Ukraine at London conference
UK PM Sunak opened the conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine with the announcement of the creation of a new mechanism for insurance of war risks
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Wednesday announced the creation of a new framework for war risk insurance that should help attract private investment to Ukraine.

"This is a huge step forward towards helping insurers to underwrite investments into Ukraine, removing one of the biggest barriers and giving investors the confidence they need to act," Sunak said at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London.
Attracting private investment is one of the main aspects of this year's URC event taking place on Wednesday and Thursday.
In May 2023, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a draft law on the insurance of investments in Ukraine against war risks.
