MBDA to resume production of Scalp missiles 15 years after last order
Scalp cruise missiles to return to production in 2025 after 15 years of hiatus

MBDA will resume production of Scalp cruise missiles in 2025, 15 years after the last order. This was reported by French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecorne during a visit to MBDA's plant in Stevenage, UK.
"The Scalp/Storm Shadow missiles supplied to Ukraine have already proven their effectiveness in modern high-intensity combat operations, including in critical situations," emphasized Lecorneu .
He also noted that MBDA is a joint venture between France, the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany, and it is a symbol of Europe's leadership in the defense industry.
Scalp missiles are identical to the British Storm Shadow, have a range of up to 300 km and allow for precision strikes on important targets deep behind enemy lines.

- In April, it was reported that the European concern MBDA is not able to fulfill orders amid record high demand. At the current pace, the company will need about seven years to do so.
