Ukraine has terminated the agreement on trade and economic cooperation with North Korea, announced the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.

The Cabinet of Ministers made the decision at a meeting on Tuesday.

The agreement was terminated due to the North Korean government's support for Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

The agreement between Ukraine and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was signed in June 1993.

In July 2022, Ukraine severed diplomatic relations with the DPRK in response to its recognition of the "independence" of the territories temporarily occupied by Russia.

On March 28, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a bill to terminate the intergovernmental agreement between Ukraine and Syria on trade, economic and technical cooperation.
