On the morning of June 5, there was a commotion in the center of Kyiv near the Trade Union Building and inside the building itself. Police, employees of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA), and various security firms were seen around. There were disputes over who would occupy the executive offices in the Trade Union Building.

The Trade Unions Building was arrested back in 2020 because of a debt of UAH 160 million to the mortgagee, which was Maidan Plaza. Back in 2020, representatives of Maidan Plaza stated that they did not know where this debt came from, but no one lifted the arrest from the Trade Unions Building.

In 2023, the Pechersk Court transferred the Maidan building to the management of the ARMA. And in March of this year, ARMA chose a manager. The Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine (FTU), which has always been in the building, opposed it. But ARMA is still trying to take control of it.

The Trade Union Building has a high symbolic significance for the modern history of Ukraine. But its commercial value is also quite high. And, unfortunately, it is now more important than the memory it carries.

After all, the Trade Union Building is a large rental space. The whole conflict is exacerbated by those who will lease the building's space and receive money from it. After all, we are talking about expensive land on Independence Square.

How did the ARMA take control of the Trade Union Building on June 5? How did the Trade Union of Ukraine defend itself? What do the management company KAMPARITET, to which ARMA gave the building, and all other parties to the conflict think about this? Found out LIGA.net .
