In six months, Ukraine raises over $54 million from privatization: key assets sold

Since the beginning of this year, the state budget has received UAH 2 billion ($54.4 million) from the privatization of state property, with a third of it, namely 683.7 million ($18.6 million), coming in June, reported the Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget Roksolana Pidlasa.

She emphasized that the privatization proceeds are used to cover the state budget deficit and are directed exclusively to the needs of national security and defense.

The largest amount of funds was received from the privatization of the following objects:

the building of the Hermitage Hotel – UAH 311 million ($8.4 million),

the single property complex of the State Enterprise Ukroboronresursy – UAH 210 million ($5.7 million),

the sale of the first seaport in the history of Ukraine (Ust-Dunaysk for UAH 201 million ($5.4 million)),

Storonybabskyi distillery – UAH 142 million ($3.8 million),

the single property complex of the State Enterprise Electronmash – UAH 120.8 million ($3.3 million),

the Vlasta Hotel – UAH 115 million ($3.1 million).

In the first half of 2023, privatization proceeds to the general fund of the state budget amounted to UAH 1.8 billion ($48.7 million), up 73.3% compared to the same period in 2021 and 6.1 times compared to the same period in 2022.

Earlier, the State Property Fund announced that it is starting to sell assets confiscated from Russian oligarchs under sanctions.

On July 4, the State Property Fund put up for sale the Smoly plant, the most expensive asset during the war.

On July 5, a privatization record was set in Rivne Oblast as UAH 205 million ($5.5 million) was offered for RivneTorf.
