A new fish processing plant of PJSC Lviv Regional Fish Production Plant has started operating in the village of Ivano-Frankove. About reported Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.
"We are honored to open the largest fish processing plant in Eastern Europe. This is not just a production facility – it is a strategic step in the development of national aquaculture," said Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky.

The new 6,800-square-meter production facility fully complies with international quality standards and can process up to 25 tons of raw materials and produce 12.5 tons of finished products daily.

The plant's building consists of three levels: two production floors and a technical third floor, where engineering systems are located. The space is divided into four main zones:
→ ramps for loading raw materials and shipping finished products;
→ "wet rooms for processing raw, salted and smoked fish;
→ "dry" premises for the production of preserves and semi-finished products; sanitary facilities for staff.

The plant has integrated international quality and food safety management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000), which allows the company not only to supply the domestic market but also to enter the export market.
When the plant reaches full production capacity, a total of 283 new jobs will be created. Currently, the company employs 82 people.

The company plans to expand its export line, introduce biotechnology for waste utilization, set up a related feed production facility, and enter new international markets.
Pros in words according to Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the UFA, the fish market in Lviv region is undersupplied. Production in the region covers only 2% of the demand.
"We have more than 5000 hectares of water, dozens of enterprises, but the potential is only partially utilized. And it is projects like this plant that help to unlock it," said the UWA chairman.

With the opening of the new plant, the Lviv region received a powerful impetus for the development of the aquaculture industry, which has been growing in recent years, emphasized in the regional council. In 2024, the region produced 1,547 tons of freshwater fish, 30% more than in the previous year. However, demand still significantly exceeds domestic production.
- PJSC Lviv Regional Fish Production Plant was founded in 1994. It specializes in freshwater fish farming and processing for the Ukrainian market. The company's beneficiaries are Oleksandr and Vitaliy Svishchov, Andriy Kachan is the general director of the plant.
