Appointment of a new Supervisory Board Energoatom, which the prime minister Yulia Sviridenko on Monday called "a top priority this week", will be delayed until the end of the year. This was stated by the Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev to journalists on Thursday.

"The procedure is defined by the current legislation: public announcement of the requirements, a minimum period of ten working days to collect applications, shortlisting by the recruiter, interviews with candidates by the nomination committee, which includes international partners as observers, and approval of the final list. The fastest this process can be completed is by the end of the year," he said.

The minister added that even in this case, the renewal of Energoatom's supervisory board will be unprecedentedly fast, as it usually takes three to six months or more to select the full composition of supervisory boards.

  • on November 17, Sobolev said that the new supervisory board would have to elect a new chairman of the board, and an acting chairman would be appointed during the competition, to be agreed with the G7.
  • Previous composition of the Supervisory Board of Energoatom disbanded after a corruption scandal around the company's procurement.
