International partners have delivered the first of four cogeneration units to Odesa, according to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The equipment, funded by the governments of Japan, Norway, and Sweden with support from the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine, can meet up to 45% of the energy needs for Odesa's critical infrastructure.

UNDP's Resident Representative in Ukraine, Jaco Cilliers, reaffirmed the organization's commitment to supporting the Ukrainian government and cities in ensuring stable power supplies.

"By positioning these units directly where energy is needed, we can reduce fuel consumption by up to 40% for each unit. This initiative marks a crucial step in decentralizing and strengthening Odesa’s energy infrastructure," he said.
