Ukraine on Tuesday provided emergency assistance to Poland’s power transmission system operator, the Ukrainian energy ministry said in a statement.

"Yesterday, from 11:00 to 14:00, Ukraine provided emergency assistance to the transmission system operator of Poland", the ministry said. "Its total amount was 690 MWh."

Over the past day, Ukraine imported 69.00 MWh of electricity, and exported 2222 MWh to neighbouring Slovakia and Moldova.

In general, the electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to meet the needs of consumers, the energy ministry said.

At the same time, two power units were shut down for short-term repairs, to be completed within a day.
