Ukrzaliznytsia launches daily Kyiv–Bucharest train from October 10

Starting October 10, Ukrzaliznytsia will operate a daily international train on the Kyiv–Bucharest route, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development reported on Saturday.

The train will pass through Vinnytsia, Zhmerynka, Iași, and several smaller stations.

Travel time: just over 24 hours. Departures from Kyiv are at 06:30, arriving in Bucharest at 06:47 the next day. Departures from Bucharest are at 19:10, arriving in Kyiv at 19:41 the following day.

The train will arrive at Bucharest’s central station, Gara de Nord, which has regular high-speed connections to the airport. Tickets in a sleeping compartment cost approximately 3,800 UAH.

  • Ukraine and Romania are also developing several infrastructure projects. A new bridge across the Tisza River will open a border crossing between Bila Tserkva and Sighetu Marmației. Additionally, a transport corridor from the Greek port of Alexandroupolis to Odesa via Bulgaria and Romania is under discussion.
