The Swiss group Nestle has started construction of a new factory for the production of pasta in Smolyhiv, Volyn Oblast, reported the company's press service on Facebook.

The company announced the construction of the factory at the end of last year. Investments in the project will amount to 40 million Swiss francs ($44.8 million).

It is planned to start production in the first quarter of 2024. The new factory will be built next to Nestle's distribution center, which has been in operation for more than 10 years.

Together with the factory in Torchyn, the Volyn production network will become a European regional hub for the category of culinary products, the company says.

The hub will employ 1,500 people who will ensure the supply of products to the Ukrainian market and other European markets. Initially, about 300 people will work at the new production facility.
