On May 18, the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) began to purchase gas for its own needs on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEEX), reported the company's press service.

GTSOU plans to buy gas with supply points at the virtual trading point and/or in underground gas storages with supply during the current and next months.

The company notes that since June 2021, GTSOU has been a participant in exchange trading on the short-term gas market, created to balance supply and demand within a day.

From January 2022, the GTS Operator uses information on the prices of short-term standardized UEEX products to calculate the daily imbalance fee.

At the end of April, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine also entered the Ukrainian Energy Exchange for the first time and purchased 1.6 million cubic meters of natural gas from private Ukrainian producers.

On November 30, 2022, after a three-year break, Ukrnafta resumed gas trading on UEEX.
