One of the most productive gas wells launched in Ukraine

Ukrgazvydobuvannya from the Naftogaz Group launched a new gas well with a throughput of 400,000 cubic meters per day, reported the press service of the state oil and gas company.

This is the fourth high-throughput well launched in 2024, and one of the most productive, Naftogaz said.

The idea of launching this well belongs to the development team of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Natural Gases (UkrNDIgaz), which is also part of the Naftogaz Group.

They were able to correctly assess the residual potential of the old deposit, successfully determine the area for laying the well and proved the high prospects of drilling in this area.

During the work, a daily record for drilling by one crew was also set – it drilled 905 meters in 24 hours. Thus, it was possible to finish the well 30% faster than planned – in just 105 days.

In the first days of 2024, Ukrgazvydobuvannya commissioned an exploratory well with a flow rate of 250,000 cubic meters of gas per day. In February, two more wells were launched with a total output of 550,000 cubic meters per day.

Last year, 86 new gas wells were launched. 24 of them have an initial flow rate of more than 100,000 cubic meters per day.

For the first time, Ukraine went through the winter on its own gas this season.
