The Netherlands will allocate €25 million to support Ukraine’s energy sector, Dutch Foreign Minister David van Willem announced on X during his visit to Kyiv.

"I also informed my colleague Andriy Sybiha that we are increasing our efforts in the energy sector. Russia is deliberately attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The Netherlands is providing €25 million for equipment, emergency repairs, and gas purchases. We will not leave our friends to face this alone," the minister said.

On October 27, Estonia announced the allocation of €150,000 to support Ukraine’s energy sector.

  • Ukraine is currently discussing additional assistance for gas purchases with its partners. According to Bloomberg sources, Ukraine needs to import an additional 4.4 billion cubic meters of gas by the end of winter, which could cost about €2 billion.
  • Meanwhile, the financial needs of Ukrainian energy companies for repair equipment exceed the budget of the Energy Support Fund by around €500 million.
