The Ministry of Digital Transformation, together with the state agency PlayCity, has developed a document that sets financial and time limits for gamblers. About it said the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

The draft order stipulates that Ukrainians will be able to set their own limits for gambling – per day, week, or month. The system will record the time to the nearest second from the moment of the first bet.

The document aims to prevent gambling addiction and provides for:

  • financial limits – determine what share of monthly income a player can spend on gambling;
  • time limits – the duration of participation in gambling;
  • maximum continuous playing time and duration of the mandatory break.

Similar practices are in place in the EU, Canada, and the United States and have proven effective in the fight against gambling addiction. This is the first time limits are set in Ukraine. In the future, they will be adjusted based on real data.

"After the public discussion, we will process citizens' proposals and coordinate the document with government agencies. The next step is to adopt the order," the Ministry of Digital Transformation noted.
