The diesel car market in Ukraine has declined: ten most popular models in July
Demand for diesel cars in Ukraine fell by 13% to over 5,500 units in July

In July 2025, more than 5,500 new and used cars with diesel engines joined the Ukrainian car fleet, which is 13% less than in the same period last year. About reported Ukravtoprom.
Of this number, 1,200 were new cars, which is 26% less than in the same period last year. More than 4,300 used cars were imported from abroad, which is 8% less than last year.
The most popular new diesel cars in July were the following:
- Renault Duster – 351 vehicles;
- Volkswagen Touareg – 137 cars;
- Toyota Prado – 128 cars;
- Skoda Kodiaq – 89 cars;
- Volkswagen Tiguan – 88 cars.
The most popular imported used diesel cars in July were:
- Renault Megane – 363 cars;
- Nissan Qashqai – 286 cars;
- Skoda Octavia – 268 cars;
- Volkswagen Passat – 252 cars;
- Volkswagen Golf – 168 cars.
In the new passenger car market, diesel cars account for 18.7%, compared to 25.5% in July 2024. Among used imported cars, diesel cars account for 19.3%. The average age of such cars is 11 years.
- Demand for hybrid passenger cars in July 2025 increased by 11% – to more than 2,600 units.
- The share of new cars with traditional internal combustion engines (ICE) on the Ukrainian market in July decreased to 54%.
