Odesa received 25 buses from other Ukrainian cities; 15 more are on the way: photo

They have already arrived in Odesa: ten buses from Lviv, ten from Kropyvnytskyi, and five from Mykolaiv. This was reported by the Head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak.
"We are preparing an extraordinary meeting of the executive committee to procedurally launch them on city routes. We are also expecting the rest of the buses from other communities that are helping us within the framework of the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine’s Side by Side project," Lysak wrote on Facebook on Friday, January 2.
The received buses will duplicate tram and trolleybus routes to provide transportation until electric transport resumes operation in Odesa.
After receiving all the buses, a schedule for their operation will be created.

Problems with passenger transportation arose in Odesa due to the difficult situation with electricity supply caused by massive Russian shelling.
Almost 40% of Odesa’s public transport runs on electricity and cannot fully operate its routes. In response to this need, communities from other regions of Ukraine are providing transport support to the city, the Ministry of Communities and Territorial Development reported the day before.
In total, to ensure passenger transportation, Odesa is expected to receive 40 buses from communities across different regions of Ukraine.

Minister Oleksiy Kuleba clarified that ten buses are being provided by the Lviv and Kropyvnytskyi communities, five by the Mykolaiv and Zhytomyr communities, and three by the Vinnytsia and Mariupol communities. The Bila Tserkva community has also joined the support effort.
- Since December 13, Russia has been carrying out massive attacks on Odesa and the region, striking energy and port infrastructure, railways, residential buildings, and civilian enterprises.
- On December 17, the consequences of the Russian attack on the Odesa region’s energy sector were recognized as a state-level emergency.
- The city and the region were also under Russian shelling on Christmas night and New Year’s Eve.
