Ex-director of state-owned coal company suspected by NABU of embezzling $15 million

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has pressed charges against the former acting director of the state-owned Krasnolymanska Coal Company, the bureau's website reports.

The case concerns two episodes, the total amount of losses for which is UAH 546 million ($14.8 million):
→ sale of 756,000 tons of coal to intermediary Dantrade LTD three times cheaper than the market price in November 2015 – January 2017
→ illegal extraction of 112,500 tons of coal without permits in November 2015.
At the end of 2016, NABU conducted searches in the office of Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP Serhiy Trehubenko related to the purchase of coal from the Krasnolymanska mine.
