Ukrenergo has restored the communication line of the Zaporizhzhya NPP with the Ukrainian power system, which was damaged as a result of the overnight Russian attack, reported the company's press service.

"Ukrenergo has restored the power transmission line that feeds the Zaporizhzhya NPP. The plant is switching to power from the Ukrainian power system," the message says.

Also, energy companies have already restored the energy supply to consumers in Zaporizhzhya Oblast under reserve schemes. The power output of the power plant is gradually being restored.

The company noted that damage to the 330-750 kV high-voltage lines in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast led to the shutdown of one of the major power plants in the region, as well as a number of Ukrenergo and Oblenergo substations.

For now, electricity is sufficient to cover the needs of consumers. Despite this, Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to spare electricity in the evening hours to preserve the balance in the energy system.

Recently, the IAEA announced it was preparing a new safety plan for the Zaporizhzhya NPP, which is expected to be presented on May 30 at the UN Security Council.
