Recruitment sensation: Ministry of Defense causes storm with nine applications per position
The Ministry of Defense has announced that 389 units of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine have posted advertisements for 1847 vacancies on specialized job placement sites.
At the end of 2023, the Ministry of Defense signed agreements with four companies, which provided their platforms free of charge, and began working together to attract motivated professionals to the Ukrainian military. These companies are Lobby X, Work.ua, robota.ua, and OLX Ukraine.
"The project has received a positive response from the public and is gaining momentum – people are actively applying for vacancies. We currently have over 17,500 responses. That's an average of nine responses per job opening. The number of responses is growing every week on all platforms," commented Deputy Defense Minister Natalia Kalmykova.
According to her, the number of vacancies from military units is also increasing.
"I predict that in the coming months, we will see a significant positive trend – we are talking about thousands of people being recruited," the deputy minister added.
The Ministry of Defense is currently preparing to launch its recruitment agency.
The Ministry recalls that recruitment is a parallel process to mobilization, based on the signing of a contract for a specific period. In this process, individuals are assigned to a specific unit and position, making the most of their civilian experience. In addition, the contract offers several advantages in terms of social security.
