Russia opens an "international" checkpoint in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk

Russia is planning to open an "international" checkpoint in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk under the guise of a legal seaport of the Russian Federation. About it reported head of the Center for Occupation Studies Petro Andriushchenko.
According to Andriushchenko, on October 15, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree to establish a permanent multilateral cargo checkpoint in the seaport of Berdiansk, located in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the document, the port's technical arrangement is being carried out by the Russian state-owned company Rosgranstroy. All work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
According to Russian plans, the capacity of the "checkpoint" will be about 4,800 crew members and more than 200 cargo ships per year. The total cargo turnover will be up to 1.5 million tons.
In this way, Moscow is trying to integrate the occupied Berdiansk into its own transportation system and create an official channel for export of stolen Ukrainian grainmetal and building materials under the guise of legal cargo transportation.
"In fact, this is an attempt to legalize the stolen port under the guise of the 'state border of the Russian Federation'"andriushchenko emphasized.
- On August 25, it became known that the Russian occupiers had added to the list of ports, mariupol and Berdiansk opened for foreign vessels to enter Mariupol and Berdiansk. The order was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin
