Consumption remains at a record high level for this heating season. Ukrenergo is forced to call in emergency assistance from Romania and Poland again from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the company's press service informs.

This morning, the dispatch center of Ukrenergo again recorded a high level of consumption, which is almost equal to yesterday's record. The power system remains in a difficult situation. Consumption due to the cold snap remains at the highest level for the winter season. At the moment, there are no free capacities at the power plants.

In order to avoid outages and maintain the balance in the energy system, Ukrenergo is forced to call in emergency assistance from the operators of the electricity transmission system of Romania and Poland from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a capacity of 400 MW.

Emergency assistance is an emergency measure to balance the power system. Although the situation in the power system is difficult, consumption limits are not introduced, outage schedules are not predicted.

Ukrenergo asks everyone to consume electricity sparingly.

Any power cuts?

As a result of systematic and prolonged attacks, one of the thermal power plants in the eastern region was once again damaged. In another region, one of the power units went out for emergency repairs due to a problem with the operation of the equipment. Some units of thermal power plants are still undergoing repair work, and solar power plants cannot work at their maximum capacity due to dense cloud cover throughout the country.

Due to inclemencies, 13 settlements in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast were de-energized in regional networks.

Due to hostilities and other reasons, 479 settlements remain without power. As a result of the strikes, there is new damage to Oblenergo networks in Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Kherson oblasts. Emergency recovery works are carried out depending on the security situation and with the permission of the military.

Due to technical violations, consumers in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhya oblasts are without power.

Electricity consumption in Ukraine on Thursday significantly exceeded the forecast because the air temperature dropped.

The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense said on Thursday that the most difficult part of the winter is still ahead, and therefore Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defenses.

The Ministry of Energy suggests that Russia will resume attacks on energy infrastructure with the onset of cold weather.
